There was one place, 'Grom', which is famous for its ice cream in Florence. I didn't really have any expections, I mean come on, it's ice cream, how good can it get? Oh boy was I wrong. The only (though seemingly inappropriate) thing I can compare this gelato to is the worlds best steak that quite literally melts as soon as it hits your tongue. This analogy, which probably doesn't even count as an analogy, definitely does not do this ice cream justice...but I hope you get the gist of its awesome-ness. Luckily this place was just around the corner from our hotel. Please do take the time to admire the photo of me chomping said ice cream down elegantly below.
I was so sad to leave! Seriously, I would've happily spent the entire summer in that small little city. It's definitely given me a kick up the backside to learn Italian alongside my Spanish. They both use the same word for 'yes' so it shouldn't be that difficult right...? Click below to see some of the photos from the trip!
Buonasera!

Beyond amazing gelato. Fruit of the Woods is the worlds best flavour.
Florence has the most amazing tiramisu...EVER.
A beautiful horse. Random but necessary.
This is what pretty much every cafe window looked like.
Ponte Vecchio - possibly my new favourite spot on Planet Earth.
The aforementioned elegant chomp-down of gelato.

Oh Florence <3 I spent a summer there last year and the little city stole my heart completely! I've been to Grom!! Did you try any of the frozen slushy drinks they have? I can't for the life of me remember what they were called but they were simply amazing!
"Pasta-filled Italian sunshine". Can I go there, please?! Sounds amazing and delicious. And those treats look great.
I never made it to Florence, sadly! I LOVE these beautiful, yummy photos and I am hoping to go back there!- Jessica

Looks delish! I think I could spend an entire summer there too!
You're making me want gelato pronto! Sounds delicioso.
Did you get anything leather while you were in Florence? The whole time I was there I just ended shopping for leather coats, haha.
I do remember the bridges, though, and the houses along the river - which had the most amazing colors.
You're so lucky you live in London and not the U.S. so that you can make these last minute excursions.
I saw your little picture on Google Friend Connect and had to check out your blog - I'm wearing giant glasses in my blog post today, and I felt like we were nerd oversized glasses twins! Haha.
Love your blog - really cute design.

I love your photos and the way you describe Florence--I am aching to visit there someday! And the gelatto, oh my! My husband and I are crazy for just about any frozen treat and since another of our favorite things to eat is tender steak, I appreciate your analogy. :)
Wow I really would love to go to Florence. I've been to Italy and although I can't remember the gelato, the pizza- my God!!
I'm giving away butterfly cutters if you're interested!

It looks amazing! I've recently fell in love with Gelato, which surprised me a little because I'm not the biggest fan of ice cream. That picture of you by Michelangelo Square is beautiful, by the way. :)
Impulse trip to Florence?! Gosh you are lucky! I wish I could go to places like that in Europe that easily. Anyway, I love your blog! It's all organized and neat:)
I've been to Florence and absolutely love it. I have to plan a trip to Tuscany in summer, i've been craving for it for quite a while.
